I'm writing daily again, and oh what a joy it is. My historical fiction novel set in the 1870's and featuring a Black Pinkerton detective is with an editor. It's kind of a western wrapped in a time travel narrative. Thumbs crossed that somebody will like it. I'm also working on Book 7 of the Charlie Mack Motown Mystery series. Working Title: Mourn Me When I'm Gone.

It was lovely to attend this year's Saints and Sinners Literary Festival. It was my first time returning in a few years, and the warmth and creative energy was just as I'd remembered it. Adjacent to the Tennessee Williams Literary Festival, New Orleans and the Hotel Monteleone, host hotel for both festivals pulses with book energy that's rainbow colored. I was this year's winner of the Fiction Contest, and that gave me an additional reason to feel a literary glow.

When I returned to DC, I was honored to be "in conversation" with my writing buddy, award-winner, Rob Osler to promote his new book in his series about an LGBTQ, female, cross-dressing, private detective. The book is called The Case of the Murdered Muckraker, and is available now. It's a great read.

I read another writing friend's debut novel, and what a fun reading experience it was. The Masala Chai Mystery Club will be published by Crooked Lane Books in July. Watch for it!
